About
Bondi to Coogee is the classic Sydney coastal walk: about 6km past five beaches in a row — Bondi, Tamarama, Bronte, Clovelly and Coogee — including the stretch through Waverley Cemetery perched on the cliff edge, which is more or less the highlight of the whole route.
The path is sealed the whole way. There are steps but nothing difficult; brisk walking takes ninety minutes and we usually stretch it to two or three hours — a swim partway, a coffee at Bronte, sitting on the cliff for a while, then food together at Coogee before everyone heads off.
This is the easiest first meetup to turn up to: no gear, no fitness requirement, nobody you need to know beforehand. Conversation happens on its own while walking.
How it works
- Fill in the form below — you do not need a group to sign up
- We add you to the activity group on WeChat
- The group votes on a time and a venue nearby
- Numbers are confirmed the day before, and we go once we have enough people
What to bring
- Shoes you can walk in — trainers are plenty, no hiking boots needed
- Sunscreen, a hat and a bottle of water; there is almost no shade on the route
- Swimmers and a towel are optional — several of the beaches are swimmable
- The walk itself is free; the only costs are transport and whatever you eat at the end
